Periyar Wildlife Santuary, Thekkady, India
Periyar reserve is a protected area in Kerala, south India. It’s renowned as an elephant and tiger reserve. Periyar tiger reserve conducts various programmes under eco tourism such as nature walks, hiking & camping.
The above photos are from a dawn to dusk hiking & rafting programme. It’s a guided programme called Bamboo rafting. The best season for wildlife sighting is summer. While elephant sightings are common, tiger sightings are very rare.
